BEAVERTON / PORTLAND — As a commitment to local art, BLICK has chosen to feature Portland artist Kristin Burnett of DEKKO Art Studio at their Beaverton location. The exhibition, NINE LIVES, opens Tuesday August 29th, 2017 and has no set end date. Pieces will be available for purchase at BLICK Art Materials Beaverton, located at 2710 Cedar Hills Blvd. Beaverton, Oregon 97005.
NINE LIVES was co-curated by Kristin Burnett and BLICK. Each piece was hand-drawn or painted and digitally enhanced by Kristin. Most canvases are 16” x 20” and all are pre-stretched and mounted, ready to be hung.
During the first few weeks of the exhibition, Kristin will be on-site at BLICK to speak with customers and discuss her work on Thursdays 6 PM - 7 PM. Interested buyers are welcome to purchase the art directly at BLICK. Kristin Burnett can be reached at firstname.lastname@example.org or @dekkoartstudio.

My illustrations celebrate the ephemeral moments of life by framing the beauty and motion of the subject within the canvas and within its own emotional context. Working from real-life subjects, landscapes and images from my subconscious, the serene and the surreal merge as one. Utilizing photographs, I manually transform them into the haiku of art nouveau using gouache, ink and dry pigments, which are then digitally polished. Clean line-work dominates my figure drawings where white space speaks as loudly as the vivid colors that punctuate the rest of the piece. Major subjects include the female figure, fantasy and the fluidity of nature.
